The only way I could think to describe the colonial white city of Sucre is that it has been sprinkled with powdered sugar. Not simply because all the streets are cascaded with white buildings, but because like the chocolate they sell and make in Sucre is just as sweet as the people. It was a very pleasant place to stay and hang out. I can understand why people come to UNESCO World Heritage site of a city to stay for weeks learning Spanish. It is great. Plus it looks like it has some great hikes and mountain bike routes, long and short. Unfortunately, I’ll have to see those next time. It is also home to the only known dinosaur footprints.
It must be noted though lunch is a big thing here, so if you are looking to check out any museums to it early in the morning or late afternoon as everything is closed from noon to 2:30p.m. I found that the hard way walking up the steep hill twice at the wrong time. I really need to pay more attention.
